Description

The title was suggested during the completion of this painting - but again, I couldn’t make sense of it as I was perplexed as to what I was ‘closing in’ on, yet felt as though I was heading towards something - ? It comes from a tune I had playing in my head whilst I painted: ‘Dot Dash’ by Wire, the lyrics repeating over & over, again & again - “..mist closing in - getting thicker - one drops out - becoming quicker…”, though the final lines of the song really hit a nerve with myself at the time - “…the risks increase - with sustained leisure - courting death - so ill at ease..” I hadn’t got a fucking clue, I really hadn’t.
